CastlevaniaRL is a roguelike game of survival, you are a member of the Belmont family which arrives to the Castle of Count Dracula to fulfill your fate: bring and end to his reign of blood.

As you enter the castle garden, zombies and skeletons crawl out of the soil, bloody bats descend from the dark night and wicked black panthers emerge from the shadows; using your holy Vampire Killer and the sacred weapons, you must face the perils of the castle, and prove yourself worthy of facing the count.

This is a game of combat strategy, in order to win you must get to know your enemies and their abilities. You must make good use of your weapons and take care of your health, there is only one Belmont!

CastlevaniaRL: Prelude, was an entry for the 7DRL programming initiative and is a project in continuous development

Features

  • Based in Castlevania I: The combat is simple, you swing your whip, your enemy is hit. spatial tactics are the only one thing that will make you gain advantage over the many monsters that dwell in the castle.

QuickStart:

  • Use W or Ctrl to whip, SpaceBar to use your weapon, J to jump and the numerical keypad to move
  • If you get lost on the screen, use 'L' to identify the icons.
  • Use F1 to bring up the help screen
  • Hit the candles to pickup hearts, weapons and upgrades.
  • Hit the enemies to destroy them, score points and get keys.
